To try to circumvent the problems involving a historical adaptation, the producers chose to take liberties to tell the story of the series. Spartacus: Blood and Sand, who still brings Lucy Lawless (Xena) in its cast, promises 13 episodes full of action, blood and lust. Also promises to have sex scenes never before produced on TV.
